Overview
30-hour Construction Industry Outreach helps train workers how to recognize and eliminate or mitigate safety and health hazards on the job on a more in-depth level and across a broader range of topics. Sometimes known as the 'Supervisor's Course' many jobsites require all workers to obtain this secondary level of safety knowledge.
This course includes in-person instruction about workers rights to a safe and healthful workplace, employer responsibilities, and safety best practices. Group activities, hands-on learning, and open Q&A sessions make learning easier and more interesting.
After successful completion, each student is issued (in person or via email) a Completion Certificate and then (by mail) an OSHA Course Completion card.
Topics include: Introduction to OSHA, Focus Four (Falls, Electrocution, Struck-by, and Caught-in/between Hazards), PPE, Health Hazards, Cranes and Elevators, Excavations, Materials Handling, Scaffolds, Stairs and Ladders, Hand Tools and Power Tools, Welding and Cutting, and Concrete and Masonry Construction as well as Ergonomics, Fire Protection and Prevention, Motor Vehicles and Marine Equipment, Powered Industrial Trucks, and Foundations of Safety Leadership.
This is an especially helpful course for construction laborers and heavy equipment operating engineers from subsurface to roofing, as well as project managers, field inspectors, and engineers across all aspects of the industry.
